Bio:

In 1992 Ossi survived a 40-foot fall, but suffered many major injuries. After multiple surgeries and physical therapy she was introduced to Pilates as a form of movement therapy. Pilates not only enabled her to dance again but has also served as a stepping-stone to various types of integrative movement, including Gyrotonic, Gyrokenisis, and yoga.

In 2002 Ossi took her first Power Vinyasa Yoga class and has been back to her mat every day since. The combination of these modalities offers core strengthening (Pilates), spiral energy movement (Gyrotonic), and movement through meditation (yoga), bringing a naturally balanced energy to all her classes and creating a flow that is adaptable to all students.

In 1997 Ossi was certified in Pilates through The Pilates Studio, Inc.  She studied and was certified in the Gyrotonic Expansion System in 1999 and Gyrokenisis 2001 with Julio Horvath.  She has also completed her Level I and Level II yoga teacher training with Baron Baptiste.  Ossi graduated from the Muscular Therapy Institute in 2005 and is a licensed muscular therapist.  Additionally she studied Thai Massage and Reflexology and is a certified Doula.

She is the founder of the Brooklyn Yoga Project.
