Bio:

Over ten years into her practice, Jody continues to be amazed, delighted and inspired by yoga, and considers it an honor to share her love of mindful movement as an instructor. She believes yoga is for every body, and aims for her students to feel grounded, empowered, and deeply at ease, ultimately coming into a fuller expression of their truest selves. There is always more to learn and deeper to go, and Jody encourages a light and playful spirit as we journey together.

Jody completed her 200-hour teacher training under the guidance of Ossi Raveh in 2012 and still considers Ossi to be her greatest mentor and influence on her teaching style. In addition to teaching at various Brooklyn studios, Jody teaches yoga to conservatory students at The Stella Adler Studio of Acting in Manhattan, marrying her loves of yoga and creative expression.

Jody's background as a trained actor (MFA in Acting from The American Conservatory Theater in San Francisco) has exposed her to a wide variety of movement modalities including Laban, Feldenkrais, Alexander Technique, and Middendorf Breath work, and she brings this body of knowledge to bear in her her teaching. She is fascinated by the power and mystery of our ever-evolving breath and fosters a deep connection to breath in her classes.

Connect to your breath to quiet your mind, free your body, and open your heart. It really works.
